About Beverley
Beverley Elliott has spent a lifetime turning unexpected moments into memorable stories.
An actor, singer, songwriter and storyteller, she is best known to audiences around the world as Granny on ABC’s hit series Once Upon a Time. Her career includes more than 100 film and television credits, with appearances in Unforgiven, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Family Law and numerous Hallmark and Lifetime productions.
But Beverley’s greatest role may be simply being herself. Her original one-woman shows, Didn’t See That Coming and Sink or Swim, combine music, humour and deeply personal storytelling. Both were named Pick of the Vancouver Fringe Festival, and her work has taken her from stages across Canada to New York City, where she has appeared at The Moth and won Best Musical at the United Solo Festival.
Warm, candid and wonderfully funny, Beverley tells stories that remind us that even the most difficult chapters of our lives can hold moments of connection, surprise and joy.
About the Session
You Never Know What’s Coming
Life rarely follows the script we imagined.
There are moments that delight us, moments that undo us and moments that quietly change the direction of everything. Beverley Elliott has experienced enough unexpected plot twists to know that we do not always get to choose what happens next. We do, however, get to decide how we meet it.
With her unmistakable warmth, humour and honesty, Beverley will share a deeply personal story about navigating one of life’s unexpected turns. It is a story about what we carry, what we release and how laughter can sometimes find us in the very places we thought it had disappeared.
Although life may not always give us the story we ordered, occasionally it gives us one worth telling.
